License

VMagicMirror (“The Software”) has the license note in License Note section.

Preamble and Caution about reverse engineering to the binary distribution are help document, and not a part of the license note.

Preamble

  1. You can use The Software for both personal and commercial use.
  2. You do not have to credit The Software if you upload the video or streaming your screen with The Software.
  3. The Software itself does not contain neither violent nor sexual expressions.
  4. The Software usage as purely personal purpose (e.g. desktop mascot) is not an avatar usage.
  5. The Software usage as streaming or video output will be an avatar usage.
  6. User must also comply to the VRM model license.

Caution about reverse engineering to the binary distribution

1. Notice about binary distribution on BOOTH

This section is help information that about the risk of the reverse engineering to the binary distribution.

The software distributed in binary style includes non-open source resources, like following.

  • Paid Assets on Unity Asset Store
  • VRoid SDK

This means that the reverse engineering may violate the license or guidelines for those resources.

Also note that, you should not redistribute binaries available on BOOTH or Fanbox. I do not tell it is prohibited, but redistribution is very likely to violate the license or guidelines for those resources.

2. Notice about Full Version

There are full edition (paid version) software at v1.8.0 and later, which has different binary from free conventional free distribution (standard edition).

Please see Download page for the detail about full edition.

About full edition:

  • The source code of full edition is open in GitHub, so I do not recommend to reverse engineer the software to understand the internal process.
  • I do not intent to restrict building the software from source code on your environment. Such build goes under the MIT license in GitHub repository.
  • Full edition is not available in free because of some reasons, including the concept of sharewere. Please avoid to redistribute full edition. Also please do not reverse engineer the standard edition to crack feature restriction.

3. Refund is Unavailable

  • Refund is unavailable in any cases, based on disclaimer in the license.
  • There might be serious issue because of zip file download failure. In this case Full Edition might not work though Standard Edition works correctly in specific environment. In such case please do NOT request refund, and instead please see FAQ and make contact if necessary.
